CAJUN SPICE SOUP RECIPE
This Soup is easy to customise to your taste. Most ingredients can be swapped with alternatives of your choice. You can also make a thicker soup by adding extra vegetables. In place of water you can use other stock of your choice. Add more of what you like and enjoy a bowl of this soup anytime of the day.
INGREDIENTS
2 to 3 Cups Cooked beans of your choice
2 to 3 Cups Cooked brown rice ( or other whole grains of your choice)
Cooked Leftover meat of your choice with bones preferably
4 to 6 large Tomatoes, chopped
2 to 4 chopped Carrots
Four Seasons Foods Cajun Spice
Four Seasons Foods Herb Sensation
4 Cups of Water or stock of your choice
Salt to your taste
3 Tablespoons cooking oil of your choice
Any other chopped Vegetables of your choice
DIRECTIONS
1 – In a pot heat up cooking oil at medium heat and cook the tomatoes until cooked to a sauce.
2 – Grind on the Spices, a few twists to start off with and mix in with the tomatoes .
3 – Add the meaty bones and stir well then add the beans and rice and mix.
4 – Add in the water or stock mix, then cover with a lid and bring to a simmer.
5 – Once it starts to simmer reduce the heat to low and season your soup to your preference. Add more Cajun Spice and Herb Sensation as well as Salt to your preference. 6 – When you are happy with your seasoning add the Carrots and leave it to simmer at low heat for 15 to 20 minutes so the flavours come together.
7 – Adjust the soup thickness by adding more liquid if it is too thick or leaving it to cook down if you want a thicker soup.
