Uses

Oats are an ideal hot breakfast cereal. They can alao be made into overnight Oats. They can also be used in baking cookies, bread and other treats.

Benefits

Oats contain Beta-glucans which is a fibre that helps boost Infection fighting cells in the body. Beta-glucan is said to work with White blood cells which contain the body’s healing mechanism, by helping them locate the site of infection in our bodies and improves their ability to get rid of the bacteria once they get there. Oats are also high in fibre, vitamins and minerals.

OAT BARS

These Oat bars make a healthy snack with ingredients that are known to boost Immunity. They are made up of a combination of Four Seasons Foods Oats, Honey, Sunflower Seeds, Flax seeds, Coconut oil with some Chocolate.

Makes about 6 to 8 bars

Ingredients

1 Cup Four Seasons Foods Oats

1 Tablespoons Four Seasons Foods Foods Flax Seeds

3 Tablespoons Four Seasons Sunflower seeds

1 Tablespoon Four Seasons Foods Honey

1 Tablespoon Four Seasons Foods Coconut Oil

50g Plain Chocolate of your choice, preferably Dark Chocolate

DIRECTIONS

1 – In a pan at medium heat add the Oats, Flax seeds, Sunflower seeds, Honey and pan roast mixing, until they start to go brown, then take off the heat to cool down.

2 – Melt the chocolate combined with the Coconut oil in the microwave for about 30 seconds at a time and mix until it’s liquid and incorporated. Alternatively you can melt you chocolate using the double boiler method, which is in a bowl sitting over a pot with boiling water.

3 – In a separate bowl combine the Oats mix with the melted chocolate and mix well.  Pour into a lunch tin or baking tray and press the Oats down firmly so the Oats mix is tightly packed.

4 – Cut with a knife where you want your Oat bars to divide, then press down again what has become loose.

5 – Place your Oat bars mix in the fridge to cool down and harden.  After an hour or so they should be ready to eat.

6 – Break them apart and store in a cool place covered ready to enjoy.
